Home-grown talent search in celebration of NZ Music Month
Manukau City Council’s Otara Music Arts Centre is proud to present the great OMAC Star Search.
We’re looking for the next Opshop, Anika Moa, Brooke Fraser or Scribe.  Children and youth from 5 to 18 years are invited to have a go and see if they’ve got that star quality.
Star Search is open to vocalists and instrumental musicians. They can perform in any genre or style of music. Heats will be held at the Otara Town Centre stage on Saturday, 24 May with the final on Saturday, 31 May. Members of the public can come along and support Manukau’s future stars.
There are three categories:
Under 11 years
12 to 15 years
16 to 18 years
Prizes for the category winners include the chance to have a professional recording session at OMAC and be featured on a special OMAC Star Search 08 compilation CD.
For more information contact Greg Whaiapu, Otara Music Arts Centre, phone 274 6400 or email greg.whaiapu@manukau.govt.nz
