Countdown To Chaos
“V” 48HOURS: Furious Filmmaking.
Registration for New Zealand's largest film competition is about to close in less than forty eight hours.
“V” 48HOURS organiser Ant Timpson wants to motivate the youth of New Zealand away from their internet, ipods and arcade games for just one weekend, “instead of sitting on their fat arses shooting hookers in Grand Theft Auto IV, listening to crappy emo bands and wolfing down junk food, they'd be better off grabbing a handycam, some non-virtual mates and shooting anyone or anything they want during the weekend of May 16-18th."
Filmmakers have to create an entire short film from scratch in less than 48 hours. Registration finishes on May 8th. Over 500 teams have registered already and space is becoming very limited.
Over eight thousand cast and crew will participate this year with their short films shown in cinemas throughout New Zealand. The winning shorts from each city will finally compete against Peter Jackson's Wildcard picks during a two hour C4 Television special and one film will finally be crowned, Grand National Champ 2008.
