2008 Fieldays 40 preparations well underway
With just two months remaining before the launch of the 40 th New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays, organisers say that preparations are well underway for the event.
Improvements and developments have been made throughout the event to make the 40 th anniversary of Fieldays a memorable milestone event. Visitors will notice that Gate 1 has been extended to display additional sites while improving access to the event and providing a world-class boulevard with the space to meet, greet and plan their day at the event.
Also new for 2008 is the Eastern Marquee, included by popular demand for more rural lifestyle indoor exhibition space and ‘Kiwi’s Best’, where New Zealand’s very best food and beverage will be available to try and buy under the direction of celebrity chef, Alister Brown of television series Hunger for the Wild. ‘Kiwi’s Best can be found at the heart of Fieldays on M Road and promises a real celebration of the fantastic products coming from our nation’s farmers and growers.
At the other end of the process, the Science of Farming will be under the microscope as the Premier Feature at Fieldays 2008, with the support of agricultural scientific leader, AgResearch. Fieldays General Manager, Barry Quayle, says that the theme is an ideal foil for the Fieldays’ 40 th anniversary celebrations next year.
“The Science of Farming’ allows us to look forward at some of the fantastic developments that will take us into the next 40 years, and with AgResearch onboard, there will definitely be plenty of new developments and exciting ideas on show at Fieldays 2008”.
