Lotto Winners Marching all the Way to the Bank
Lotto players in Auckland, Gisborne and Palmerston North will be marching all the way to the bank after winning just over $1.2 million each in Lotto's First Division tonight, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
The winning tickets were bought at Paper Plus Sylvia Park in Auckland, Grant Bros in Gisborne, and Plaza Lotto in Palmerston North.
Due to Lotto jackpotting over two successive weeks, there was $3.7 million on offer in First Division in tonight's Lotto draw.
Lotto Powerball has jackpotted tonight and will be worth an estimated $16 million in next week's draw - if won this could be the second-largest Powerball prize ever.
The largest combined Lotto Powerball prize won to date was $17.9 million won by a lucky player who purchased their ticket at Kaeo Four Square in May 2006.
Strike Four was struck tonight, with a ticket sold at Lotto N Things in Oamaru, winning its holder a staggering $840,000.
A whopping $2 million worth of cash prizes has also been won around the country following the 100 Giant Nest Eggs Easter draw.
All Lotto players who purchased a Triple Dip between Sunday 9 March and 7pm, Saturday 22 March 2008, were in tonight's draw for one of a hundred extra prizes.
