Comedian Dave Wiggins jokes about life
Award winning comedian Dave Wiggins returns to the NZ International Comedy Festival with his new stand up show 100% Human 0% Whale.
Wiggins has been busy in 2008 on the festival circuit already having done sell out shows at the World Busker’s Festival in Christchurch and the Hamilton Summer Gardens Festival.
“I love the Comedy Festival,” Wiggins says. “It’s definitely one of my favourite times of the year and I’m excited to bring a new show.”
In 100% Human 0% Whale, Wiggins discusses life, animals and the pursuit of happiness. With a heavy dose of Wiggins’ trademark observational comedy, the show lightly tackles the issue of what it means to be human. “The idea for the title just came to me one day,” Wiggins explains. “So I’ve been building the show around that and really happy with what I’ve come up with.”
Wiggins, who is a regular on the NZ Comedy circuit, does stand out in one way. He works all clean which makes his show good for any audience including families.
“My comedy is about everyone having a good time. I don’t like to alienate anyone, instead it’s great to see all types of people come together and have a laugh,” Wiggins explains. “To me it’s about entertaining, not offending.”
“…very easy and fluid style… his observations were also very astute…well picked and delivered”

“The programe said Dave Wiggins would prove the only way to be an American living overseas is to have a sense of humour, he certainly did… It’s quite refreshing to see a comedian who could get everyone laughing without resorting to jokes better suited to the gutter.”
