Newtown Festival Fair Day 2 March 2008
Main Stage
The annual NEWTOWN FESTIVAL will fill the streets of one of the city's most vibrant suburbs from the NEWTOWN FAIR DAY
taking place on SUNDAY 2 MARCH. This year the entertainment extends into the evening on the main stage which has been
relocated to accommodate expected crowds and the later show times
As well as the 250 stalls, displays and entertainment the main stage to be located in Newtown school will feature some
of the stars of the New Zealand music scene. Heading the line up is the PHOENIX FOUNDATION supported by the Aviators,
Yoots, Sam Manzanza and Hikoikoi.
Bands are timed to play at
12 noon to 1pm : THE SAM MANZANZA BAND
1.45 to 2.45pm : HIKOIKOI.
3.45 to 5pm :THE PHOENIX FOUNDATION,
5.4 to 6.45pm : THE YOOTS
7.30 to 8.15pm :THE AVIATORS,
The Fair Day features an additional 5 stages FIVE STAGES, including a DJ STAGE on Newtown Ave; a LATIN STAGE on Emmett
Street, andstages on Wilson and Green Streets and the corner of Constable and Riddiford Streets

Other events during the festival include THE CARRARA PARK JAZZ PICNIC (SATURDAY 8 FEBRUARY), events at THE ADELAIDE, an
exhibition by artist, PAUL FOREST and the ever popular CULTURE JAM (SATURDAY 2 MARCH).
