SUN COMES OUT FOR SKYCITY STARLiGHT SYMPHONY
Last night (Sunday February 24, 2008) tens of thousands of people were serenaded under the stars at SKYCITY Starlight Symphony.
The star-studded show, which was postponed from Saturday night because of heavy rain, featured classical music and entertainment from Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Will Martin, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the SKYCITY massed choir, and special guests.
SKYCITY Starlight Symphony event manager, John Searle, said the event team were delighted that "the show could go on".
"We couldn't control the weather on Saturday, but when the sun came out for us on Sunday the team put on an incredible show."
SKYCITY Auckland General Manager, David Christian, said SKYCITY was delighted to be a part of the iconic Auckland event.
"It was fantastic to see the community come together to enjoy a wonderful evening at SKYCITY Starlight Symphony.
"Importantly the event also raised much needed funds for Kidz First. All money raised on the night will help look after little Kiwis in Middlemore Hospital's new Intensive Care Unit."
You can still make an automatic $20 donation to Kidz First by calling 0900 KIDZ FIRST.
