Yngling team in 5th at Worlds
Sharon Ferris, Raynor Smeal and Olivia Powrie are lying 5th overall after seven races sailed at the Yngling World
Championships being sailed on Biscayne Bay, Miami.
Sitting in seventh in the 28-boat fleet at the start of the fourth day of racing Ferris and crew managed a 2nd in race
seven to climb up the leader-board to 5th place. After a dream start to the regatta the kiwi campaigners slipped from
2nd place back 7th and will be pleased to produce a solid result on the water for race seven to lift their standing once
more.
Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson representing Great Britain continue to dominate the event. Leading from the
outset the Brits won race seven and extended their lead over the German trio lead by Ulrike Schuemann.
Two more days of racing remain with a top ten medal race scheduled for Friday in Miami.
