The NZ International Comedy Festival Presents
The 2008 Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Convoy
Caution: Comedic Detour Ahead
The 2008 Cadbury Crunchie Comedy Convoy hits the road once more, only this time our intrepid gang of comedians veers off the beaten track to visit four new towns, bringing their road show of hilarity to ten national centres this Festival season.
Since its 2002 debut the Comedy Convoy has been highly popular with national audiences. The showcase offers an opportunity to see five top rate comedians at their comic best. This year the NZ International Comedy Festival has answered the call of the kiwi by increasing the number of centres on this mad road-trip. Audiences in Tauranga, Taupo, Napier and Invercargill will now get to experience some of the finest talent in this year’s Festival from New Zealand and abroad.
Ever the intrepid traveler (with both Roll the Dai and C4 and Fresh Up’s Awesome Adventure), last year’s winner of THE FRED Award and all round loveable lunatic Dai Henwood will host the Convoy this year with outstanding comedic talent in the form of Jason Cook (UK), Jason John Whitehead (Canada), Kitty Flanagan (Australia) and Simon McKinney (NZ).
The Convoy starts its ride across New Zealand on May 6 as a key event in the 2008 NZ International Comedy Festival, bringing a snapshot of the best of the Festival to those living outside of Auckland and Wellington.
Audiences are advised to book well in advance, as The Convoy crashes in town for one night only before taking off into the night to their next destination..
What are you waiting NZ … a one night stand is comic relief!
