Press Release from the NZ Comedy Guild, 11/2/08
As of a couple of hours ago, NZ's premier comedy export, Flight Of The Conchords, can add a Grammy to their already full trophy cabinet. They have won "Best Comedy Album" for their EP "The Distant Future", beating out Lisa Lampanelli, George Lopez, Steven Wright and the legendary Harry Shearer (*Spinal Tap, The Simpsons*.), in an early part of the 50th annual Grammy Awards, being held as we write in Los Angeles.
The NZ Comedy Guild would like to pass on their congratulations to yet another rung climbed in New Zealand comedy's worldwide rise.
