After ending last year with a sell out show, Clean Comedy is back with a special event.
The Clean Comedy show is a family friendly show offering a great night of up-lifting entertainment guaranteed to be a hit with everyone. This month’s show features Dave Wiggins performing his one hour solo show YANKEEISH as he warms up for the NZ Fringe in Wellington.
“Last year at the end of one of my Fringe shows I asked the audience if I should come back next year. There was an enthusiastic cheer, so I’m going back,” Wiggins says.
In YANKEEISH, which premiered at the NZ International Comedy Festival in 2007, Wiggins tackles the paradox of his American heritage and his recent adaptation to the Kiwi way of life.
The show focuses on his experiences over the last six years of living in New Zealand. Wiggins explores his relatively unknown home state of Maine, a place which with a lake called Mooselookmeguntic and little ethnic diversity.
As well, he sheds some light on the changes he has made since living in New Zealand, like watching less TV because, well, there's nothing worth watching.
