Introducing New Zealand’s Most Eligible Farmers Looking For Love
Single women searching for love are being given a unique opportunity to meet some of New Zealand’s most eligible farmers.
The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition) has scoured the country to bring you 22 rural Romeos – all looking for love and commitment – in its February edition (on sale 31 January 2008).
The search began last October when the magazine launched its Find A Farmer A Wife campaign.  Since then mothers, sisters, friends of farmers and of course farmers themselves have been sending in nominations.  Now, after interviews from Gore to Tutukaka, you can find out more about this great selection of New Zealand’s men of the land.
“Our writers met some amazing, down to earth, charming, honest and handsome farmers in their travels. All of them would love to meet that special woman.  They just haven’t had the chance – until now”, says Jenny Forsyth, associate editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition).
The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition) is the country’s biggest-selling monthly title and reaches many of the 800,000 single women in New Zealand.
The first step to finding romance is for women to send a letter and photograph to their favourite farmer. Cupid (in the form of The Australian Women’s Weekly editorial team) then delivers the correspondence to each farmer and at that stage drops out of the equation to allow the natural process of getting to know each other take place.
“We want to give people who wouldn’t normally cross paths a chance to find each other and I truly hope we can help find these men someone to share their lives with,” says Jenny.
The last campaign in 2004 proved that good old-fashioned matchmaking still works. It resulted in at least four marriages and growing families on farms throughout New Zealand.
All interested, eligible women can simply send a letter and a photograph to The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition), specifying the farmer that caught their eye. Because this is not a competition, there is no deadline, however the earlier the letter is posted, the more chance the farmer you have your eye on will still be single!
Pick up a copy of the February issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition), check out the Kiwi lads, and encourage the single female in your life to explore the possibilities that await.
