ONLINE CASTING
MGN Filmes is currently casting for its new feature film, "RPG".
"RPG" is a movie about a new game developed to entertain the richest and most powerful. Based on the concept of Role Playing Games (RPGs), it uses a highly sophisticated interface that allows the gamers to control the movements of their characters – the GamePlayers – in real time.
Ten people representing various parts of the world are selected to play the game. Within a time frame of 24 hours only one will survive; the one who kills more.
The game takes place at an old tourist facility in the middle of the forest, away from the rest of the world. The place is controlled by the GameMaster who have placed traps and riddles at the turn of every corner.
"RPG" will be shot in English and as the story asks for different actors coming from all around the world we decided to use the newest communication technologies and make the casting for the film through the Internet.
All actors who want to try out for a part in "RPG" must go to Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. and select a character they would like to play (and which they physically fit). Then they must film themselves playing the part given by us and upload the video onto the server. The filmmakers will then decide which of the candidates will be invited to do a final casting test in Portugal, where we will select those who will play in the movie.
"RPG" will be directed by young Portuguese filmmaker David Rebordão, who gained Internet recognition by directing the viral video ‘A Curva’ (aka The Ghost Hitchhiker, The Ghost of Teresa Fidalgo), that was seen by millions of viewers on the Internet. David started as an advertising film editor working with the best production companies in Portugal. He also wrote and directed short films and music videos.
"RPG" was written by Joel Gomes and David in a futuristic thriller style with powerful characters and a plot with enough twists and surprises to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
The producer of "RPG" is Tino Navarro who began his career in 1998, through his own independent production company, MGN Filmes, and became one of the most respected and successful Portuguese producers. During the last two decades Tino Navarro has produced and co-produced a large number of projects (more than 25 films and 2 television mini-series), with shootings on locations as diverse as Europe, Brazil, China, India and the United States. Among his body of works are four of the top-ten Portuguese box-office of the last twenty years.
