Gold Medals For Gibbston Highgate Estate
Gibbston Highgate Estate own by Jacques and Swava Pociecha celebrates recent wine awards. In addition to three Silver
medals from New Zealand and overseas wine competitions, three Gold medals have been awarded for their SOULTAKER Central
Otago Pinot Noir 2006 – WineWise Australia Small Vigneron Wine Competition 2007 (Gold Outstanding), Wine Style for Asia
Singapore 2007 (Premium Gold), and Sydney International Wine Competition 2008 (TOP 100 Wines Blue-Gold Medallion
Winner).
The WineWise Small Vigneron Wine Competition is Australasia’s most independent, consumer and producer focused, no
sponsors included and influenced wine competition. The wines are judged against same variety wines from same regions,
and then against each of the winning same variety wines from other regions.
The Wine Style for Asia Singapore show is Asia's very own wine award given to wines for their quality and readiness for
the Asian market. Started in 2004, Wine Style for Asia Award is recognized for giving winners a distinctive edge over
many wines in Asia.
The Sydney International Wine Competition wines were judged against entries from 454 brands from ten countries
[Australia, Argentina, Canada, Chile, France, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa and USA] by an international
panel of fourteen judges from seven countries. TOP 1OO WINES BLUE-GOLD AWARD wines were judged with food and are the
highest scored wines. The winning wine wears the double-disc bottle medallion.
Gibbston Highgate Estate winemaker Chris Carson, a talented young Canadian, made the Soultaker 2006. Their other wines
are also highly acknowledged and awarded.
