Nathan Haines Joins Fantastic Festival Line-Up
Nathan Haines confirmed
Date set 9 February 2008
25th Anniversary of New Zealand’s longest running wine festival
This year’s Marlborough Wine Festival at Brancott Estate is set to groove with the addition of New Zealand’s finest jazz export Nathan Haines to a packed entertainment line-up already featuring Kora, Don McGlashan and the Beat Girls.
The London-based multi instrumentalist whose 2003 album ‘Squire for Hire’ achieved gold status in New Zealand, will bring his own talented six-piece band to the festival to perform their unique blend of jazz, funk, spiritual house and drum'n'bass.
Festival organiser Sarah Booker from Wine Marlborough says the quality of the signed acts reflects the popularity of the festival which is New Zealand’s longest running wine and food festival.
“Given that it’s the 25th festival we want to celebrate accordingly this time around. It’s a great line-up with a mix of musical styles to suit everyone so it promises to be a fantastic day.”
The festival will again showcase Marlborough’s best food and wine and will be held at Brancott Estate on Saturday 9th February 2008. As part of the 25th milestone the festival will feature some exciting additional extras for patrons including vintage aircraft aerial displays throughout the day.
The $40 tickets for the Wine Marlborough Festival are selling fast and can be purchased from TicketDirect at www.ticketdirect.co.nz or phone 0800 224 224, and the Marlborough Centre.
