TVNZ's Christmas Present To Shortland Street Fans
TVNZ and South Pacific Pictures are giving Shortland Street fans a present this Christmas – the biggest week in Shortland Street history free of charge on TVNZ ondemand.
In the lead up to discover the identity of the Shortland Street killer, this week's episodes of New Zealand's favourite local drama are not to be missed. Now fans have the chance to see the final week again on TVNZ ondemand.
TVNZ's Head of Emerging Business, Jason Paris, says that the free catch-up episodes from TVNZ ondemand will reward the show's loyal fan base.
"The dramatic storyline has had viewers hooked. Shortland Street's TV ratings have gone through the roof.
"We've also had extra Shortland Street offerings available online – secret episodes, as well as Behind the Scenes specials, to help viewers get their Shortland Street fix. This has led to unprecedented traffic to the Shortland Street site at tvnz.co.nz – the number of unique users has increased by over 500 per cent.
"So we've decided to reward Shortie followers with free catch-up streams from TVNZondemand.co.nz."
Head of South Pacific Pictures, John Barnett, is delighted to give Shortland Street fans something extra this Christmas.
"At this time of year it's often hard for viewers to see Shortland Street every night, so it's fantastic for them that they don't have to miss out – they can get online and catch up. And they're getting the thrilling final week for free – even better!"
Paris says that this most recent Shortland Street offering underscores the importance of TVNZ's partnerships with the production industry.
"Our relationships with South Pacific Pictures, and their support, make it possible for New Zealanders to watch Shortland Street wherever, and whenever, they want to."
This week's episodes of Shortland Street play each night on TV2 at 7pm. Each episode will be available on TVNZondemand.co.nz after its first play, and all summer long until the new season of Shortland Street returns in mid January.
