Workers flip flop to offices
There’ll to be some rare sights in boardrooms and offices and on buses and trains tomorrow.
Thousands of New Zealanders are going to be mixing suits and work attire with an iconic piece of kiwi footwear - our trusty jandals™.
Tomorrow (Friday Dec. 7) is Bach 22 National Jandal Day, inaugurated this year to raise funds for Surf Life Saving New Zealand.
Workers throughout the nation are being encouraged to don their jandals™ in collective support of the thousands of volunteers who give up their time to ensure our beaches are safe during summer.
More than 930 businesses incorporating some 43,000 people have registered to take part in the innovative fundraising effort.
Among them is Air New Zealand whose check-in staff at domestic terminals and executives at head office all intend to flip-flop to work tomorrow.
In addition to office groups, thousands of individuals will also be taking part in the day and showing their support for the heroes of our beaches.
The inaugural Bach 22 National Jandal Day is a joint initiative between Surf Life Saving New Zealand and Bach 22, a fun and great-tasting new range of wine.
Look for the distinctive street collectors nation-wide tomorrow or donate online at www.nationaljandalday.co.nz.
