Media Release; Parihaka International Peace Festival Nov 23 2007
Settled and dry weather is forecast this summer making the Parihaka International Peace Festival organisers smile in anticipation of the January 11-12-13 2008 outdoors festival. Said to be ‘more than just a summer time music event’ the organisers say that the great line-up of stars and rising artists of mixed genre is evidence of their unique support for the NZ music industry.
A dramatic increase in interest toward the festival is flooding in from all quarters, through enquiries and E-TICKET sales available at the festivals website www.parihaka.com
Volunteers are preparing the festival site on the central Taranaki coast at the historic Parihaka Paa to host the increased numbers expected.
Special attention is being given to the Speaking/Poetry, Film, Eco and Healing forums because of a sense of urgency toward these forms of dialogue within Aotearoa NZ
The festivals organisers say that global conflict and issues at home are the festivals responsibility to face in the light of day where solutions can be found.
