Jeremy Yates back on top as the King of the Mountain
PowerNet Tour of Southland: Day 3 Results
Subway Cycling Team captain Jeremy Yates pulled on the red and white polka dot jersey this afternoon as today’s King of
the Mountain leader in the Tour of Southland.
Leading the pack over three hills, Jeremy accumulated enough points to take the lead today highlighting his advantage
over other riders with superior ability to tackle the arduous hill climbs.
“After a slow start to the tour my legs have caught up with me and I’m really happy with my performance today. Getting
the lead in any category is one thing but defending that lead is another and something I’ll be working very hard with
the other Subway riders to do over the next few days,” says Jeremy Yates.
Down to four riders due to Hayden Godfrey withdrawing yesterday with a back injury, the Subway Cycling Team is relying
on the skills of the remaining team members to take out a stage win this week.
Potential contender James Williamson recovered after two crashes today to remain the best placed rider so far in the
Subway Cycling Team.
The Subway Cycling Team will continue to chase an elusive stage win this week, with Jeremy focusing on accumulating more
points in the four hill climbs featuring in tomorrow’s stage. Beginning at 10am on Thursday cyclists will go from
Lumsden to The Crown Range, finishing around 1.20pm.
The tour of Southland continues daily until this Saturday the 10th of November.
