This Christmas has begun with a bang with $239,554 windfalls for five Lotto players who bought their tickets in Auckland, Otumoetai, Te Awamutu, Napier and Hawera, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.
The winning tickets were purchased at the following stores;

"The winners can enjoy their Christmas holidays in style after winning $239,554 each," says Mr McLeay.
Lotto Strike Four, worth $205,898 was also won tonight by a player who purchased their ticket at Denton Wyatt Bookshop in Hastings.
Lotto Powerball has jackpotted tonight to an estimated $2.5 million in next week's draw.
Tonight's other big winner was Lynn Hopkins from Naenae, Lower Hutt, who spun and won $175,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Lynn enjoyed a luxury weekend in Wellington, staying at the Duxton Hotel with her husband Brian, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Russell Harrison, leading up to her $175,000 winning spin.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Roxburgh Supervalue in Roxburgh, Otago. The serial number is 480-31720208-20XX
