$1 Million Lotto First Division won in Palmerston North
Christmas shopping just became a lot more fun for a Lotto player who bought their ticket in Palmerston North after they won $1 million on Lotto First Division tonight, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.
The winning ticket was sold at Regal Bookshop and Lotto in Palmerston North.
"Our winner will really be able to put the 'festive' into the 'festive season' this year," says Mr McLeay.
Lotto Powerball has jackpotted tonight to an estimated $3 million in next week's draw. Strike also jackpotted and is worth and estimated $300,000 next Saturday.
Tonight's other big winner was Aaron White from Timaru, who spun and won a $50,000 shopping spree live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Mr White enjoyed a luxury weekend in Wellington, staying at the Duxton Hotel with his wife Stacey, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Russell Harrison, leading up to his $50,000 winning spin.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Onerahi Bookshop in Whangarei. The serial number is 458-11348484-20XX.
