Snowboarders Hit Central Auckland
If you’ve ever dreamed of a white Christmas, December 1 is your chance to get a taste.
Winter will return to Auckland for a second time this year when 15 tonnes of snow are dumped in Aotea Square.
Summer SnoJam 06 is gearing up to be the event of the year with more than 20 of New Zealand’s best snowboarders competing on a massive seven metre high scaffold in the middle of town.
Organiser Tim Scullin says this is a first for Auckland: “This will be a truly unique event. Nothing like this has ever hit the streets of central Auckland in Summer before! Some of New Zealand’s best snowboarders will be dropping in and risking everything for the chance to gain local glory.”
Be entertained by Auckland’s top young bands My Life Story and Kingston, watch the riders, and chill out with some mid-Summer snow.
Way more fun than your average Friday night, Summer SnoJam 06 is an event not to be missed- and it’s free.
Summer SnoJam 06 will be held in Aotea Square on December 1 from 6pm-10pm.
