MAORI TELEVISION HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2007!
ANZAC 2007: Wednesday April 25. Wena Harawira reunites with Judy Bailey to co-host Maori Television’s all-day ANZAC coverage which has a special focus on youth.
ARERO: Back for a second series in the New Year, this panel discussion show takes an in-depth look at issues from the perspective of rangatahi (youth).
ASK YOUR AUNTIE: Returns in January with no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is wisdom from the agony ‘aunts’ of the popular bilingual panel show.
CODE: From February. Sensational Maori sports entertainment show hosted by some of New Zealand’s top names in sport. Mean, Maori, Mean!
HAA: Back in April 2007 – five days a week. High-energy info-tainment magazine programme for young teenagers with the latest trends and news in youth culture.

INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY: Every week of the year. More inspirational top-class stories from other indigenous peoples around the world.
KAI ORA: Second series from March. The Maori Queen of Cuisine, Anne Thorp, presents an indigenous cooking show complete with celebrity guests.
KAITIAKI O TE MAUNGARONGO: Returns in late 2007. Follows the brown boys and girls in blue on the beat for the New Zealand Police Force.
KAI TIME ON THE ROAD: Fifth series coming in June. Kick back with chef Pete Peeti for another round of gourmet delights.
KETE ARONUI: New, fifth series in April profiles artists from the unique and stimulating world of Maori art.
KIWI MAARA: Back in January and August. Gardening show with practical, everyday advice for anyone with a slightly green thumb. Plus sign language for the hearing-impaired.
KORERO MAI: Returns in March. Groundbreaking, award-winning language learning series launches a new, fifth season with an ongoing bilingual soap opera.
MAORI MEDIA AWARDS: Annual event in April. Exclusive coverage of the awards ceremony honouring the work of Maori radio and television broadcasters.
MAORI SPORTS AWARDS: Another annual event, this time in November. Exclusive coverage of the awards ceremony honouring the achievements of Maori athletes.

TAKATAAPUI: The only show in New Zealand for gay, lesbian and transgender Maori returns in March.
TANGAROA WITH PIO: Back in March. Pio Terei presents the third series of the fishing show with a difference, weighing the anchor on Maori relationships with the sea.
TATAI HONO: Third series returns in April tracing the real-life stories of urban Maori who have taken up the challenge of researching their roots.
TAUTOHETOHE: Coming up in 2007 – a riveting reo Maori debating series that sees contestants from different iwi and Maori groups squaring off head-to-head.
TE KAEA: Daily in reo Maori at 7.30 PM; repeated with English subtitles at 11.00 PM. Local, regional and national Maori and international news every day of the week.
TE HETERI: Weekly bilingual current affairs show informs both Maori and non-Maori about Maori issues as well as indigenous perspectives from abroad.
TE MATATINI NATIONAL FESTIVAL 2007: From Palmerston North in February – live and exclusive coverage of the premier event of traditional Maori performing arts.
TOI WHAKAARI: Every week in 2007! Key kapa hapa events showcasing the best in traditional Maori performing arts.
TU WERA: Second series of the cool magazine show for youth with the latest trends, funkiest issues and the best talent in music, sport, fashion and the arts.
WAKA AMA SPRINT NATIONALS: Annual sports event in January from Lake Karapiro, Cambridge, sees the country’s best paddlers battling for top honours.
WARRANT OF FITNESS: Back for a second series in July. Examines the health of everyday Maori through powerful, personal stories.
WHATUKURA: Returns in 2007. All-male advice panel show answers questions from viewers – both male and female – about men’s problems and problems with men.
