It was Evermore once again fielding the major chart action across the ditch in October, but by no means were they the only Kiwis keeping the Ockers busy. Let's take a look…
Triple J have got Shaky Hands’ track ‘You and I’ on high rotate and Rage are slamming the accompanying clip. The band were special guests on the recent You Am I tour and are back in Australia next week to play a special party at the gaelic club. And in the most obvious sign that things are going well, their EP has sold out and has gone into a second pressing...
The Datsuns entered the ARIA Top 100 albums at #92 towards the end of October, and the boys from Cambridge are currently playing various dates throughout Australia before coming home to do the Coromandel Christmas/New Year circuit.
Tyree's appearance on Chamillionaire's 'Ridin' single has climbed even further up the Singles Chart after being added to more radio playlists. The song gained seven places to peak at number 24 by the end of October.
Imaginary Kingdom, the new album by Tim Finn, peaked at #48 in the same chart after its October 14 release. The single 'Couldn't Be Done' reached number 76 in the singles chart.
Beaten out only by Justin Timberlake and The Scissor Sisters, Evermore impressively entered the ARIA digital tracks chart at third place with 'Light Surrounding You'. The second single from their latest album Real Life, 'Light Surrounding You' also peaked at #8 in the singles chart, was the 9th most requested video in Channel 's Top 10 and was the 11th Most Added track to Australian radio that month. First single 'Running' was still holding its own at #43 by the end of October, some months after its release.
Along with Evermore, Scribe has also been announced to play the Australian leg of the Big Day Out.
The Veils' debut single from Nux Vomica, 'Advice for Young Mothers to Be' was the fourth Most Added track to alternative radio in October.
Other Radio adds in October:
