UPDATE: Big Wednesday Winners

Published: Thu 9 Nov 2006 11:19 AM
Please note that in the press release issued last night (9/11/06) the winning stores were transposed.
Big Wednesday First Division, worth $12.6 million was sold at Thorndon New World and the Second Division ticket worth $556,000 was sold at Kilbirnie Woolworths
A player who purchased their ticket in Wellington has won $12.6 million in cash and luxury prizes in Big Wednesday First Division, the second largest prize ever won on Big Wednesday, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.
The winning ticket, sold at Thorndon New World in Wellington, is worth $11,007,820 cash plus a Range Rover, a Porsche, $50,000 worth of travel every year for five years, $250,000 on an American Express credit card, a Mustang 3200 sports cruiser launch, and a $500,000 bach.
"Not only is this Big Wednesday's second largest prize, it is the fifth largest prize won, by an individual ticket, on an NZ Lotteries' game.
"It truly is the ultimate lifestyle. With $12.6 million in cash and luxury prizes the winner will be able to enjoy cruising in their new boat, taking one of their two new cars for a spin, relaxing over long weekends at their holiday bach, or heading off on an overseas trip whenever they feel like it," said Mr McLeay.
This is the eighth time Big Wednesday's top prize has been won since the game started in October 2005.
In its first year, Big Wednesday paid out over $65 million in prizes and created more than 2.6 million winners.
Mr McLeay's advice for this week's Big Wednesday winner is to write their name and address on their ticket, confirming their ownership.
"They should then contact NZ Lotteries Wellington office on (04) 802 7000, and we can provide advice about the next steps to take," he said.
A Big Wednesday Second Division prize of $556,969 was also won tonight on a ticket purchased in Kilbirnie Woolworths in Wellington.
A ticket sold at Mangere East Post and More in Auckland won Big Wednesday's second chance draw, open to all tickets bought for tonight's draw. The ticket holder has won a Mercedes Benz C230.
The winning serial number is 436-49927712-13xx
"Anyone who bought their ticket from Thorndon New World, Woolworths in Kilbirnie or from Mangere East Post and More in Auckland should check it immediately," says Mr McLeay.
