Swim Website Up And Running
The website for this year's Whitianga Swim Classic is up and running!
Check it out at www.whitiangaswim.co.nz and let any of your swimming mates know about it!
We're already taking entries and it is good to see one of last years winners has already registered to defend her title!! Sunday 10 Dec should see a big field of swimmers taking to the water on Buffalo Beach, Whitianga. The field is limited for safety reasons, so get in quick to register.
This year we have two races: -The UNITED WATER 800M and -The Muir's APPARELMASTER Whitianga 2KM
A big thanks to these two major sponsors who are putting up the Cash prize money for each of these races. In total there is $3000 in cash up for grabs, along with another $3000 in product and vouchers, making a total prize pool of over $6000
There will also be a special prize in each race for the fastest local swimmer home, from Pinnacle Fitness and Whitianga Wi Fi
A big thanks also to all those businesses who have put up spot prizes: -Dive HQ Whitianga -Mussel Bed B -Cathedral Cove Kayaking -Kuaotunu Bay Lodge -Admiralty Lodge -Mercury Bay Beachfront Resort -Albert No 6 -Luna Cafe -tuatua -Travel Options United Travel -Subway Whitianga -Video Ezy Whitianga
If you are based in Auckland and want some open water coaching in the build up, check out www.futuredreams.co.nz Haydn has posted the worlds fastest ever Ironman swim so knows his stuff, he also runs Womens Only swimming lessons, check out www.swimcoach.co.nz.
We couldn't find anyone that qualified in Whiti but Dave Sparks once swum a few laps in his speedos is his school days, so has volunteered to share his training progress on the Breeze in the build up.
Get the wetsuit out and get training.
Cheers! www.whitiangaswim.co.nz
