Idol’s Wildcard knocked out at Top 4
In tonight’s hour live NZ IDOL results show (at 7.30pm on TV2), Idol’s Wildcard Ben Hazelwood (17 years from Wellington) was the seventh person to be eliminated from the NZ IDOL Top 10.
The New Zealand public voted Ben into the NZ Idol Top 10 after the Wildcard sing-off in Wellington against Wiremu Hohaia and Lenken Issac.
After last night’s Homegrown music special, Ben was placed in the bottom two, along with Aroha Robinson (18 years from Mt Maunganui).
In last night’s Homegrown Kiwi-music special, Ben sang Fall At Your Feet by Neil Finn and Running by Evermore. In the pop special he sang For You I Will by Teddy Geiger. Previously he has sung Like I Love You by Justin Timberlake. Saturday’s Alright for Fighting by Elton John, Take it Easy by The Eagles, Start Me Up by The Rolling Stones, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by the Temptations and at the regional piano round in Wellington he sang Move Along by the All American Rejects.
Ben says that he wants to go back to Wellington and get back to writing and singing his own material.
“I am going to make a career out of music in New Zealand and the rest of the world,” says Ben. “Music is my passion and I can’t see myself doing anything else but performing, writing and singing.”
The NZ Idol Top 3 are: Aroha Robinson from Mt Maunganui, Indira Moala from Auckland and Matt Saunoa from Levin.
Next week the Idols will be singing Love Songs in a not-to-be-missed special on Sunday at 7.30pm on TV2.
