Who Will Be MTV NZ's Newest VJ?
It's time for viewers to have their say on who will become New Zealand's newest MTV presenter.
After a nationwide search and over 2,000 entrants, MTV has selected six finalists in the MTV VJ search, connected by Vodafone.
The finalists are; Nic Andrew (20) a student from Tauranga, Heather Du Plessis-Allan (22) a broadcast journalist from Auckland, Lorna Hay (20), a dairy farmer from Oamaru, Moses Robbins (20) in customer support and James Ryder (20) a radio presenter, both from Christchurch and Stu Tolan (22) a radio presenter from Hamilton.
"From the thousands of contestants who tried out at MTV's launch at Auckland, Aotea Square to the ski slopes of Wanaka and at Vodafone stores around the country, we've had the extremely tough decision to select only six finalists," says Chris Keely General Manager MTV Networks NZ.
"We were totally blown away by the raw talent and enthusiasm shown by the contestants and would like to thank everyone who entered the MTV VJ search."
"Thankfully the MTV VJ Search team's hard work is done. We've narrowed it down to six fantastic people and it's now up to the public to choose who they want to see as a host on New Zealand's MTV."
For three weeks from Tuesday October 2nd, viewers can tune into MTV NZ (Channel 35, SKY Digital) or check out www.mtv.co.nz. to see footage of the six finalists in action. They will then have the opportunity to text in to vote for their favourite finalist. The votes will be tallied up and the winner announced in a Full Tank special, screening October 27 at 4.30pm MTV.
The winner will receive a three-month contract as a VJ for MTV, a Motorola V3X 3G mobile, Bluetooth headphones, one hundred dollar prepay credit plus two tickets to attend the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.
