Last South Island contestant leaves Idol
In tonight’s elimination NZ IDOL results show (at 8pm on TV2), the final South Island contestant Kali Kopae (21 years from Christchurch) was the sixth person to be eliminated from the NZ IDOL Top 10.
The viewers at home voted for their favourite contestants and after the Pop special, the bottom two contestants were Kali and Aroha Robinson (18 years from Mt Maunganui).
Kali’s song this week was Soak Up The Sun by Sheryl Crow. In the Groove Special she sang Sway by Michael Buble. Previously she has sung That’s Why They Call It The Blues by Elton John, This One’s For The Girls by Martina McBride, Violent by New Zealand band Stellar, Proud Mary by Tina Turner and Imagine by John Lennon at the regional piano round in Christchurch.
Kali said she wanted to thank all the New Zealand public for voting for her.
“I have had the best time of my life and learnt so much. I am so grateful for this experience”, said Kali.
The remaining NZ Top 10 contestants are: Aroha Robinson from Mt Maunganui, Ben Hazelwood from Wellington, Indira Moala from Auckland and Matt Saunoa from Levin.
Next week’s NZ IDOL is a New Zealand Music special. Don’t miss the next instalment of NZ IDOL on Sunday at 7.30pm on TV2.
