Artists to Antarctica Programme
New Zealand artists across all artforms and at any stage of their careers are invited to apply to the Artists to
Antarctica Programme, a partnership between Antarctica New Zealand and Creative New Zealand. Applications close on 31
October 2006.
The 2007/08 Artists to Antarctica Programme offers an opportunity to travel to Antarctica between October 2007 and
February 2008, and be inspired by Antarctica’s unique scientific, climatic and historical context.
The programme covers costs of travel to and from Antarctica, accommodation, food, field equipment, clothing hire and
transport in Antarctica. Creative New Zealand provides selected artists with grants of up to $10,000 to work on a
project inspired by their time in Antarctica, and to cover materials and travel and accommodation in Christchurch prior
to departure.
