Jane Rhodes bought a new vision and focus to her first solo show at Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Entitled Art Forms in Nature, inspiration was drawn from the drawings of botanist Ernst Haeckel.
A gorgeous bird print was a favourite, printed on gold silk sleeveless dresses and skirts. Colour tones throughout the collection were pulled from the print; pea green, maroon, baby blue, and shades of brown.

Flowing fabrics created strong silhouettes with wide chiffon sleeves and silk layered on trumpet skirts. Body hugging pencil skirts also featured with high-waists and a split at the back.
Wide leather belts were worn on the waist, and worked particularly well matched with flowing skirts. Other garments boasted ties around the waist bowed in the centre.
A forest green tweed coat with large pockets, and sleeves flaring from the elbow, had front row media vigorously scribbling notes.

The show progressed into dressier eveningwear - silk dresses draping to the floor were tailored beautifully with subtle sex appeal. Intricate beading and sequins were splashed on dresses for extra glamour.

Intricate buttons and differing fabrics provided subtle detailing that completed the looks. Models had long and wavy hair, and their outfits were complimented with red suede stilettos.
