Rally Events to Support the Children's Charity ‘Variety’
Organisers of the week long NZ Silver Fern Rally are please to be associated with, and to be able to support the Children’s Charity Variety. They have dedicated the rest day in Dunedin on Wednesday 11th October to Variety.
While the teams are free to service and repair their cars, Variety will be organising a social sporting event during the day, in which two members from each competing vehicle will partake. The event is Curling and will take place at the Dunedin Ice Stadium, 101 Victoria Rd, St Kilda between 11am and 2pm.
Then on the Wednesday evening, there will be a special charity dinner at the famous Carisbrook Rugby Stadium, which will feature motivational guest speaker Tony Christiansen, and will include a short rally memorabilia auction.
The evening will be limited to approximately 200 people, on a first come first served basis, and cost for the dinner is a donation of $70.00 which can be made on the Variety website www.varietynz.org.nz/silverfern06 (flyer attached)
The organisers will also be making a significant contribution to Variety on behalf of all competitors, the details of which will be announced at the dinner.
Rally chairman Gary Smith said, “Variety have been very supportive in the planning of our event, and it is great to be able to give something back. I encourage entrants, teams and supporters to get behind the Variety day, this will be one part of the rally week, not to be missed.”
The Rally itself runs from October 7th - 14th, with stops in Blenheim, Greymouth, Queenstown, Dunedin, Christchurch, Nelson before finishing back in Blenheim.
