Programming Injection for C4 in September
We've given C4 a bit of a programming injection for September - please see below! From entertainment news every single night, to lifting the veil on student life, reporting from the catwalk at Air New Zealand Fashion Week through to brand new local live music performance show LIVE AT YOURS........it's a big month! There's even more to come in October - including The New Zealand Music Awards (screening on C4 October 19th from 8.30pm) - so watch this space!
And...not to blow our own trumpet, but whilst we have your attention............C4's % share of Music TV viewing has now increased to 96% (up from 92% Jan - August 2006 average). Please let me know if you require any further information. Have a lovely weekend!
NEW TO C4 IN SEPTEMBER.
STUDENTVILLE puts the spotlight on exactly what is going on in the lives of New Zealand’s students - to address this topic we could "follow the lives struggling students as they attempt to settle into student life and meet the high expectations of learning institutes" but we don't have time for that!! Instead we just dive head first into the sweaty pit (and no there's no better way to describe it) of Toga parties, slime wrestling, beer wrench auctions, exponents at the hilly, extreme-ish games, the Undie 500 and the Hyde Street Keg Party, amongst other 'must attend' dates on the calendar. Filmed throughout New Zealand over the last few months Studentville also covers the University Games and Snow Games, Faculty Balls and loads of pub crawls. Don't miss the premiere on Monday September 11th. STUDENTVILLE / MONDAYS @ 10.00PM (FROM SEPTEMBER 11TH)
MEATY begins weeknights with Shavaughn Ruakere from September 11th. MEATY, standing for Music, Entertainment, Around Town will ensure C4 viewers are the first to know of the latest and juiciest gossip in entertainment news from New Zealand and around the world. 2 minute segments will run four times per night presented by the very gorgeous and talented Shavaughn Ruakere. Information and international footage will be fed through hot off the satellite ensuring all coverage is completely fresh and up to date. C4 (and no doubt all males in the general vicinity of our building) are very proud to "have Shav" - M.E.A.T.Y segments will screen between 5.30 and 9.30pm on C4, premiering Monday September 11th. As MEATY is being presented as segments, it will not appear in listings information but merge into the existing C4 schedule. MEATY / WEEKNIGHTS (FROM SEPTEMBER 11TH)
101 REASONS THE 90'S RULED Why the 90's ruled for you (and if they even did) might come down to your appreciation of all things Redhead Kingpin, Kris Kross and Paula Abdul....we began the decade rocked by the Milli Vanilla scandal and by the late 90's wondered if we'd even come out of the decade alive considering the potential consequences of the Y2K bug! We learnt that "A licky boom boom down" meant your days were numbered...but those safe in the knowledge they weren't informers sat comfy in supersized jeans (backward if you were a true fashionista) stood tall in creepers and then embraced grunge with gusto. From September 11th C4 presents a new series examining 101 Reasons the 90's Ruled including (of course) MC Hammer...and his pants, Pulp Fiction, Marky Marc, The Macarena, Melrose Place, Lorena Bobbit, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the Wonderbra, The X Files, Waynes World, Hanson, Ghost!, The Spice Girls, Beverly Hills 90210, Nirvana and "collaborate and listen" Vanilla Ice! A 5 part series.101 REASONS THE 90'S RULED / MONDAYS @ 7.30PM (FROM SEPTEMBER 11TH)
