NZ Music Managers Forum (MMF) Host Music Seminars In October
On Sunday October 15th at the Schooner Tavern in Auckland, the New Zealand Music Managers Forum is hosting a series of seminars as part of their Annual General Meeting and Music Managers Awards.
Each seminar/discussion group will have a panel of industry experts who are there to answer any questions about their specific topic. The morning sessions are open to the public but the afternoon sessions are exclusive to members of MMF. Details are:
MMF MEMBERS EXCLUSIVE SESSIONS
PITCH YOUR BAND TO PLAY AT THE BIG DAY 2007
MMF members have the exclusive opportunity to pitch their band to a Big Day Out organizer in a one on one session.
HOW TO GET YOUR BAND SIGNED TO A LABEL
A Managers from a selection of major and independent record companies will offer advice on a variety of topics including how to get your band noticed, how to get a foot in the door and explaining the various contracts. There will also be an anonymous demo listening session. Only open to MMF members. The Panel includes:
Matt Headland – Head of Promotions and A EMI Music Ashley Page – A Manager Warner Music Callum August – Dirty Records (Scribe, P Money, Frontline, PNC) Mark Kneebone – Tardus Music (Minuit, Cassette, Die! Die! Die!) and Chairperson of the IMNZ Peter Baker – Rhythmethod (Fat Freddys Drop, Shapeshifter)
THE NEW WORLD OF DIGITAL
Speakers from all areas of the digital world offer advice and an insight into the most important growth area of today’s industry. Open to MMF members only. Speakers include:
Morgan Donoghue – Head of Music, Vodafone NZ Nikki Streater – General Manager, Satellite Media Nick Lowe – Coketunes Brad Carter – Text Tunes Mark Kneebone – Tardus Music and Chairperson of the IMNZ * More speakers to be announced. PUBLIC SESSIONS
Funding
Find out what funding is available to you and your band to get started, shoot a video, record a single or album or to help get you overseas.. Panel guests include:

Publishing
What is publishing? What can a publishing company do for you? Who are the people involved in publishing? How does it all work? Speakers include:
Savina Kim – Mushroom Publishing Dylan Pellet – Level Two Music Placement Chris Gough – Mana Music *more speakers to be announced
The seminars start at 10.00am on Sunday 15th October and finish at 6.00pm at the Schooner Tavern, 110 – 114 Quay Street, Auckland.
The public seminars are $10.00 per session or $15.00 for both and free to MMF members.
The MMF exclusive afternoon sessions are free to MMF members.
