Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont Tops NZ Box Office Chart!
Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont has struck a chord with New Zealand movie goers this week, touching their hearts and minds, which has seen this little movie become THE BIG movie of the week!
The charming Mrs Palfrey claims the #1 position, beating the much hyped and widely advertised Snakes on a Plane.
It seems the public agree with what critics have said “That this movie prompts the comment ‘They don’t make them like they used to.’”- NZ HERALD
Mrs Palfrey’s simple story reminds us of the beauty of friendships fostered between generations. Starring Dame Joan Plowright (Tea with Mussolini) in one of the richest and most dramatic roles of her career. The handsome Rupert Friend (Pride and the Prejudice) plays alongside Plowright, as her honorary grandson.
Rialto distribution are delighted with this success - a rare triumph for independent film distributors.
