Nelson wineries set to wow Wellington at tasting event
Wellington wine and art lovers will be wowed at a tasting event showcasing a selection of Nelson’s finest wines and art during the 2006 World of Wearable Art Awards.
Hosted by a group of Nelson’s leading wineries, collectively known as Wineart, this one-off tasting will include new releases and 2006 vintage wines from sixteen leading wineries: Anchorage, Fossil Ridge, Greenhough, Himmelsfeld, Kahurangi, Kaimira, Kina Beach, Moutere Hills, Neudorf, Renato, Rimu Grove, Seifried, Te Mania, Waimea and Woollaston.
“This event was so well received last year that the group has decided to present their ranges together in Wellington for a second time. It’s a unique chance for the public to enjoy quality Nelson wine right here in Wellington,” says Wineart Event Manager, Dan Ormond.
The public tasting will be held on Wednesday 27 September from 5.00pm to 8.00pm at Shed 11, Queens Wharf. Admission to the event is $17.50 per person, which includes a free tasting glass and nibbles.
“Wineart is a chance to see what the best of the Nelson wine industry has to offer. Also, everyone who purchases a ticket before the event goes into the draw to win a case of premium Nelson wines,” Mr Ormond says.
During the tasting, an exhibition of several leading Nelson artists will also be on display.
Tickets to Wineart are available through Regional Wines and Spirits, or alternatively you can call (04) 381 2200 or email dan@ideasshop.co.nz. For further information visit http://www.wineart.co.nz.
