Radio Drama Challenge Makes It to "Full Stop the End"
The production team, cast and writers involved with 72 hour radio drama challenge met the deadline this morning at 10am
with minutes to spare.
"It was like a major meta theatre piece with drama breaking out in the studios on the streets and in the production
suite as we pulled the drama Big Balls together and yes it went online at 10am this morning as planned," said New
Zealand Radio Drama Competition Executive Producer Kim Merry. (NZRDC)
"We under took this project to promote the 2006 New Zealand Radio Drama competition and to share empathy with fellow
writers working under creative and deadline pressures.
"Big Balls is a mix of scripted studio recorded line and original lines recorded from people in the streets of Nelson,
who readily volunteered to become actors in the project. We are very proud of the finished drama and it's a big thanks
to all those who took part.
We now turn our attention to judging the entries that are pouring in for this year's competition," said NZRDC Executive
Producer Kim Merry. (NZRDC)
Big Balls was produced with co-funding from The Nelson Arts Council and Fresh FM, which is this year's principal NZRDC
sponsor.
"Big Balls" is now on line at http://www.freshfm.net/downloads/#radiodrama and will feature in the "Fresh FM Drama and
Story Showcase" Tuesday 22 August at 3.10pm.
