Amplifier Newsletter #232 - 16 August 2006
Kia ora , So this afternoon we emptied the Amplifier office and went and checked out the formal announcement of the
reforming of “iconic” kiwi rock group Th’ Dudes. It’s been 26 years since they last performed together and messers
Urlich, Dobbyn, White, Morris and Hambling looked like they could still cut the mustard.
No one at Amplifier had see the band perform before, so hearing them play one of their most famous songs, Bliss, was
strangely like watching your father’s band playing a few covers down at the local RSA. Th’ Dudes will be touring NZ with
Hello Sailor and Hammond Gamble this October (or “Rocktober” as it’s rather predictably been labelled by tour backers
Radio Hauraki). Check out the tour dates here.
Ka kite ano.
