Comedy Underground – now with explosions of flavour
Wellington's comedy renaissance continues on Sunday 27 August with another dose of the Capital's top comics appearing at
Bodega.
Three out of the five Billy T nominees for this year were from Wellington– and Comedy Underground is proud to present
one of those nominees at this month's show. JEROME CHANDRAHASEN, whose Billy T nominated show Backpacker's Guide
received sellout crowds and critical acclaim at this year's NZ International Comedy Festival, will headline the night.
The top Wellington comedy doesn't stop there – also appearing will be ALEX HAWLEY, winner of the 2006 RAW comedy
competition; NOOR RAZZAK, a finalist in that competition; MATIAHA PAKU, winner (with Chandrahasen) of the "Best
Newcomer" award at the 2005 Comedy Festival; and JIM STANTON, freshly returned from a tour of Nepal and India that is
sure to be a mine of new material…
Comedy Underground takes place on the last Sunday of every month at Room 101, downstairs at Bar Bodega. The cover charge
is only $8, and shows start at 8pm.
