Amplifier Newsletter #230 - 2 August 2006
Kia ora , It’s been a slow news week but Amplifier got a scoop when we were the first people to get official word from
the Finn camp that Crowded House are definitely not reforming. Check out the story here.
Anyway given the absence of gossip and rumour we’ve busied ourselves putting more downloadable content on the site. So
a big Amplifier welcome goes out to Puppy Killer Records (one of the nastier label names) and Tardus Records whose
catalogues are now available in iPod friendly MP3 format. And for some more hot kiwi tunes, CD’s and videos check out
the selection below.

THE BALDWIN FUN MACHINE
Although mostly instrumental, this music attempts to explore themes relating to the origins of the human species. Based
in Raglan, this evolving collective is inspired by the classic Baldwin Fun Machine organ. The tracks are warm and
organic, with touches of sampled drums and electronic flashings, mixed with some dubbed out delay makes the fun machine
roll like the Manu Bay left hander.
