Creative kids
An indoor camping adventure kicked off a series of creative, kid focussed Sundays starting this week at Lifepoint Church
in Mt Cook.
Neary 80 kids set up camp and had a blast with games and activities into the night. Most fun was had with games of
spotlight and a trip to the Carter Observatory.
A kids only café is on this Sunday with live music and fluffies. Then the innovative programme has four weeks of
creative electives that include juggling, puppet making, film making, music, dance and much more.
Lifepoint 's children's church coordinator Bronny Cook says, "children are already imaginative and motivated to be
creative. The Passport programme provides them the opportunity to explore their creativity even further".
Each child to come along will be given a 'passport' with information and tonnes of activities about the programme.
They'll also get it stamped when they turn up each week.
Adult leaders with expertise in areas such as team building exercises, music, film making and crafts are lending their
skills to the programme.
"They will incorporate into their elective the theme of trust which we're focussing on this year," says Bronny.
"Trust is incredibly important for young people. We'll look at what is trust and how do people demonstrate it."
The café is on this Sunday at 10am and the rest of the passport programme follows for four weeks. In the fifth week all
the electives will be presented at a big children run showcase.
