BAREFOOT EVENTS KIDS DUATHLON SERIES
Barefoot Events launches a new series of children’s duathlons to be held in August and September this year. The events
are for 8 – 13 year olds and will take place in Christchurch, Rangiora and Ashburton; the emphasis being to promote a
healthy lifestyle and encourage children to have fun while participating in sports.

Christchurch Kids Duathlon
Sunday 27 August
QEII Park
Ashburton Kids Duathlon
Saturday 16 September
Argyle Park
North Canterbury Kids Duathlon
Sunday 24 September
Dudley Park, Rangiora
Each duathlon is a run/bike/run format with the distances being:
8 – 10 years 1km run, 4km bike, 1km run
11 – 13 years 1km run, 8km bike, 1km run
Individual and team entries are available, with the team element providing the opportunity for children who may not be
able to complete the full distance to still participate. A reduced entry fee is available for families with two or more
children competing.

As safety is a key component for all of our races each competitor’s bike will go through a safety check. We wish to

WHO ARE BAREFOOT EVENTS?
The series is being run by Barefoot Events Limited, an exciting new sports event company that will organise sports
events such as triathlons, duathlons and mountain bike races, in the Canterbury region. Barefoot Events is managed by
Michaela Rees an experienced Event Manager and keen triathlete.
