Workshops with Jadranka Andjelic and Antonella Diana - July 2006
Magdalena Aotearoa is delighted to announce that theatre director Jadranka Andjelic and scenographer Antonella Diana
will visit Auckland (21-22 July) and Wellington (24-31 July) to give workshops and lectures.
In Auckland, Jadranka will lead "Holding the Lion's Paw", a 2-day workshop for actors, dancers and musicians, 21-22
July.
In Wellington from 24-28 July, Jadranka and Antonella will lead the week-long workshop "Performing Space", culminating
in the public performance installation "The Shifting Mirror" on the evening of Friday 28 July. This workshop is for
actors, dancers, musicians, designers and directors and is a great opportunity to spend a week immersed in the
exploration of the performance space.
Jadranka and Antonella have been collaborating since 1995 on performances with DAH Theatre Research Centre (Serbia),
Theatre OM (Denmark) and international projects. They first visited New Zealand in 1999 for the Magdalena Aotearoa
International Festival of Women's Performance, and will return to New Zealand after attending the Magdalena Singapore
festival, 9-15 July.
Jadranka is a founding director of DAH Theatre Research Centre (Belgrade, Serbia), and Antonella Diana has worked for
more than twenty years as a graphic designer, scenographer, painter and mask-maker in Italy, Denmark and Serbia. Further
