Red Bull and Victory Challenge in partnership
Victory Challenge and Red Bull today announced a partnership for the participation in the 32nd America’s Cup in Valencia.
When Örn (SWE 63) is leaving the dock today in the America’s Cup harbor at the start of Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 12 the boat has a totally new look, with the Red Bull splashed at the bow and the logotype of the Energy Drink painted on the hull.
– It’s a great moment for Victory Challenge to make this announcement. Red Bull has proven their abilities in sports already with their entry into several cutting edge sports, as Formula 1. And America’s Cup is the Formula 1 of sailing, says Magnus Holmberg, skipper and helmsman.
The announcement of the partnership coincides with the start of the final act of the 2006 America's Cup competition season.
The current event, Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 12, is sailed from today to 3 July.
In 2007, a fleet race event - Louis Vuitton Act 13 - will precede the challenger series Louis Vuitton Cup, the winner of which will race the Defender, Team Alinghi, in the America's Cup Match in Valencia one year from now.
Victory Challenge was founded in 2000 for the 2002/2003 America’s Cup in Auckland. It was reborn in late 2004 for the 32nd America’s Cup in Valencia and has now been energized for the main event in 2007.
