Dunedin Entertainer Secures Recording Deal In Oz
Former local Dunedin Country Singer Noel Parlane has recorded and released his first CD in Australia's Country Music Capital, Tamworth. Noel secured a recording contract with Australia’s award winning Independent Recording Studio LBS, under the guidance of Lindsay Butler, who was at one time a highly regarded guitarist for the legendary Slim Dusty.
Noel Parlane is no stranger to Tamworth as he was nominated for a Golden Guitar in 1979 and had his hands imprinted in the Hands of Fame Park in 1985.
Noel’s new CD, No Limits, a title chosen by his wife Marie, is being hailed as a stroke of brilliant Country Music featuring his first single release, If Heartaches Meant Gold, which has received airplay on radio stations all around stralia and throughout Europe. A new single The Shade will be released next month
For fans of Noel Parlane's yodelling skills, there are a couple of great yodelling tracks and for Gospel fans a great version of
the Old Rugged Cross which is outstanding.
Now folks for something completely different, Noel has recorded an old 60's song by Freddie and the Dreamers called I Understand this has been arranged into a Country version for the album.
Although Noel Parlane now resides in Brisbane,Australia and is in constant demand in the Clubs around Queensland and New South Wales, he is certainly not lost to his legion of fans in New Zealand, and is looking forward to organising a trip across the Tasman soon to promote his new CD, No Limits, in the near future. Negotiations are currently under way for the new CD to be released in New Zealand this year.
