PETER JACKSON'S HOT PICKS
Press Release.
June 19, 2006
Peter Jackson has selected his Wildcard pick(s) for this years 48HOURS Live TV Final (June 23rd, 8.30pm, C4).
The Wildcard(s) will be revealed during Campbell Live on TV3 this Wednesday June 21st from 7pm, so be sure to tune in to see what tickled the acclaimed director’s fancy. Last year Peter Jackson couldn’t decide on just one short and ended up selecting two. How many will he choose this year?
Peter Jackson’s Wildcard(s) will compete alongside the 48HOURS City Winners from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin... However, only one can become the Grand National Winner 2006 and take home the awesome booty of prizes (see below). Home viewer text votes and judges votes will decide just who that will be. As an added bonus, one lucky texter will receive $1000 from a random draw of all txt voters.
And if a thousand reasons are not exciting enough, Wingnut Films Ltd have generously thrown an extra Ten Thousand bucks into the prize pool. The Grand National Winner will receive an additional $5000 (thereby doubling their prize moolah to a whopping $10,000 cash plus the prizes listed below) The Runner Up will receive $3000 and the Second Runner Up $2000.
In each of the competing cities there will be a licensed venue hosting the Live TV show, so if you want to be part of the excitement then come along and support your home town team. (see VENUES below).
The TV show starts at 8.30pm sharp so if you’re joining us at one of the official city venues make sure you’re nice and early so you can snare a good spot, settle in with a drink and watch the excitement unfold… however if you have a ratings meter in your house, then please stay at home, throw your own party and boost our ratings.
