Pennywise Touring
"Loud, hard and fast it's what we're comfortable playing and we know that's what people expect from us."
Legendary punk rockers, Pennywise, are coming to Aotearoa to electrify fans with their high-energy live show.
Pennywise is one of the key bands of the punk-revival of the 1990s. Using Californian hardcore as a foundation, the band incorporated funk-metal and skate-punk into their sound. Pennywise have made a career out of not merely embracing punk rock, but playing it as if their lives depended on it.
Fifteen years after their first release, Pennywise have come out with all guns firing with their latest album, The Fuse. Pennywise stoically stick to their rasping guitars, thrashing percussion and uncompromising views to create an amazing, incendiary album from the crack of the first snare to the last molten guitar line the legendary Hermosa Beach foursome plays with more tenacity and vigor than ever. The Fuse is more than an informed, logical rebuttal. It's Pennywise at their best and set for detonation.
"Pennywise are excited about coming to New Zealand "I can't wait to get back down there" says Jim Lindberg, (it is) home to some of the biggest and most loyal Pennywise fans. Our return is long overdue."
