Dorna and Red Bull join forces to promote growth of new talent
As from 2006, Dorna will enter into a partnership of youth development programmes with energy drink manufacturer Red
Bull, with the joint aim of discovering and developing riders from all backgrounds and all corners of the globe to bring
them into the MotoGP World Championships.

The Selection Process
The first step for any rider wishing to take part in the series will be to visit the Cup’s dedicated website, where they
will be able to fill out the application form, as well as take a look through the objectives and aims of the cup.
Application will be possible up from May 30th, 2006 until July 25th, 2006.
Selection will take place at one Run Off Event lasting four days:
28th – 31st August, 2006 in Valencia (Spain)
Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
After the Run Off Event has been completed, the selection panel will then take time to choose the 20 participants for
the following year’s Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
Announcements of riders qualified for the Rookies Cup 2007 will happen asap after the last day of the Run Off Event.
Bike: KTM RC 125, a new-built KTM roadracing bike with 125cc, 45 HP, 73 kg, aluminium twin spar frame, WP front and rear
suspension and BREMBO brakes.
Red Bull MotoGP Academy
The Red Bull MotoGP Academy which is run under the expert guidance of former GP star Alberto Puig is an initiative from
MotoGP commercial rights-holders Dorna Sports to foment and foster young motorcycling talents and to provide them with a
platform by which to progress into the MotoGP World Championships.
