First Interview With Fijian Prime Minister
Maori Television’s current affairs programme TE HETERI has a Fijian coup on this week’s show (Wednesday May 31 at 8.00 PM).
For the first time Fijian Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has allowed international journalists to interview him at his private residence in Suva.
TE HETERI reporter Jodi Ihaka and camera operator Patrice Hutchinson were invited to the Qarase home to discuss tribal politics and his vision for the future of Fiji.
Qarase came to lead the country in 2000 after armed gunmen ousted Fiji’s first ethnic Indian Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudry.
TE HETERI screens on Maori Television on Wednesdays at 8.00 PM.
