Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award Calls For 2006 Entries

New Zealand’s Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award, the country’s unique and vibrant Pacific inspired Fashion Award,
has been announced for 2006 and entries are now open.
A key New Zealand fashion award, Westfield Style Pasifika is a major event in the fashion calendar with a number of past
winners showing at New Zealand Fashion Week. Accolades include the Westfield Fashion Scholarship which takes a designer
onto fashion week.
Expressions of intent to enter will close August 18 with garments due for judging between September 7th and 9th. All

The finalists will be showcased at a fashion, music and dance spectacular that will be filmed for a TVNZ television
special and presented over two nights in Auckland Town Hall on October 5th & 6th. The winners will be announced on Friday October 6th.
Westfield New Zealand, the country’s major shopping centre owner has been sponsoring the Westfield Style Pasifika Show
and Award since 2002.

celebration of New Zealand fashion and its unique place in the Pacific,” said John Widdup Director Westfield New
Zealand.
The ten categories in the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award are Pasifika Body Art; Traditionally Inspired; Asia
Pasifika; Pasifika Hero; Three Piece Collection; Urban Street Wear; Menswear; Evening Wear; Bridal Wear and Parent and
Child.
Entry forms for the fashion award are now available on the Westfield Style Pasifika website, www.stylepasifika.co.nz or
by calling 09 3762103. Also through fashion design schools and Westfield Shopping Centres in Auckland, Wellington and
Christchurch.
There are two important dates for the entry process:
- Confirmation of the intention to enter is due by 18th August 2006
- All garments are due over 3 days – Thursday 7th, Friday 8th, Saturday 9th September 2006.
